LIKE Derek's Daily 45 on Facebook, and happy 4th birthday to this site

I've created a daily 45 page on Facebook, and it's a place where we're having lots of fun re-posting all kinds of tracks that have been featured on this site within the past four years. This is the place to post all of your requests!

I can't believe that I've been hosting this site for four years! That's nearly 1500 records featured, and the well STILL hasn't run dry. I'd love for you to reply to this post and say hello and say where you're writing from; little things like that help keep me going.

Howdy, loving your blog on a daily basis (my first stop) each morning from faraway, exotic Walnut Creek.

p.s. Glad to see you're such a devoted fan of Johnny and the Moondogs.

Walnut Creek representin! Glad you stop by, and yes, those Moondogs still blow my mind on a daily basis.

Hi Derek,
Greetings from across the pond in Leicester, UK. I enjoy your blog a LOT. I love that you rip the songs from real vinyl and the enthusiastic and interesting way you point out what you like about the tunes. Here's to the next 4 years - cheers!

Happy belated birthday Derek! You're definitely one of the greatest music blogger on earth. You virtually introduced me to soul music and I Thank You (Sam & Dave's wink) for that and for all the great music on a daily basis!
Huge Cheers for Paris, France (and also Grenoble where I'm studying).

A nice breath of fresh air!

Some late congratulations from me as well!

Your blog is a blessing and a curse. A curse because it makes me realize I’m in no way the sonic conaisseur I’d like to think I am. Just the common Spectacled Mediocratus Musicalus Affiniadum, scraping the internet crumbles of other people’s hard work left behind. A curse because I just came across this blog two weeks ago en have a whopping 1500 cuts to delve into.

The blessings overcome the curses by a landslide fortunately. Blessed that someone is mining the Valley of Forgotten Waxings. Blessed that he is insane enough to share his daily excavations with the rest of the world. Blessed that I am part of the rest of that world.

The praise is hailing from The Netherlands by the way. My networking and organizing skills are poorly developed, so I won’t be arranging a gig for you. Pity, because I’d like to attend one. If however there’s another Dutchman willing to, I’d be more than happy to perhaps offer some bed and breakfast.

In the meantime, I’ll just be busy backtracking the blog. Thanks for that blessed curse.
