RAY AGEE - LEAVE ME ALONE

A journeyman in the truest sense of the word; brilliant vocalist Ray Agee (an Alabama native transplanted to Los Angeles) recorded dozens of records for almost as many different labels. Sadly, he was stricken with polio as a youngster and died far too young (age 60 in 1990).

  1. Thanks for this tasty offering from an under-appreciated bluesman. And more generally, thanks for the seemingly endless steam of soul, blues and r&b obscurities on offer here. I never cease to be amazed by the prodigious volume of soul releases that came out in '60s and' 70s that were on average of a remarkably high caliber -- even if they never charted nationally.
