TWISTIN' KINGS - CONGO part 1

I LOVE this percussion heavy early Motown release. This record seems to be lost to history and it hardly ever gets mentioned. The Twistin Kings were in all actuality the Motown house band cutting loose (aka the Funk Brothers). This track is quite revolutionary and I wonder if the drums have ever been used in any hip hop records (I am no expert in that field). Part 2 is pretty hot, as well (email me if you want it).

Ha - I just bagged a copy of this a couple of weeks ago in great condition - I HAD to have it. It's like a cuban band have been lost in the jungle for a few years. LOVE THIS ONE!

Good to read some love for this record! I did a review of Part 1 (and Part 2) a while back. May interest you and your readers to know that both parts were hacked down from a much longer, seven-minute jam from the Twistin' Kings album, the full track is well worth hearing if you can chase it down (cough Rapidshare cough).
