SHARON SCOTT - COULD IT BE YOU
All I know about today's featured singer is that she was from Philadelphia, and, unbelievably, this was her only release!
Everything else is contained in the grooves.
from 1966...

Another great record that has "that sound". Thanks.
Thanks for posting this Derek - it's a killer and that guitar break is delicious, too. I managed to get a copy on vinyl after years of looking. A couple of tiny things I do know about the song. Stereolab sampled the opening bars on - hell I forget now, but it wasn't too long ago. Also, it features on a v good comp from about 10 years ago (?) called Northern Soul Floorshakers - it's a good trawl through the RCA archives and worth tracking down (also features The Exciter's insane Blowing Up My Mind)

Cris, Blowing Up My Mind is easily in my top 20 all time favorites!
I play it very loudly, very regularly. It's truly good for the soul (although, lyrically, it's borderline, call a nurse!)
Stereolab:...they sample it on "interlock" from ' fab four suture'.
