In this incredible track, Chicago icon Gene Chandler embraced the harder, funkier sounds in a big way. Written by Curtis Mayfield, the song is incredible and Gene's performance (along with the top notch band) drive this one into a fury.

Interesting. Curtis cut this track himself under the title "Hard Times" on the (1976?)album "There's No Place Like America Today". There is also a great version by the artist Baby Huey. Love Gene Chandler (the Live version of another CM gem "Rainbow" in particular). Never knew of this version, thanks.
