LEAH DAWSON - YOU GOT TO CHANGE (YOUR EVIL WAYS)

While I always try to give my favorite cities (and musical styles) equal time, I've been neglecting DETROIT as of late. Today's entry will rectify that, as it's a corker!

We last heard from Leah on this site with her innuendo-laden 'My Mechanical Man', and as then as is now, I still don't know anything about her other than she was one of the fine artists working and recording in the mid 60s motor city. On this track, she shows the powerful side of her voice, that sounds as if it's pushing the VU meters well into the red (as does the snare drum) and leaving behind a trail of blown out microphones.
