Hugh Whalum is a jazz artist which probably explains the big band sound on the disc. The B side, "I've got to stop" can be heard at http://bradhales.podomatic.com/entry/2007-03-22T09_03_19-07_00 but it's not that good to be honest.
I like the other side, but not quite enough for a 2 sided post. I'm always having to think of bandwidth...
Hugh Whalum is the uncle of jazzman Kirk Whalum who I have now discovered thanks to this disc!
I know there's a danger of being a bit of a "sad act" as my kids would say but I think Spyder Turner covers the same song here:

The address and Hugh Whalum's involvement link the River City label to the better-known Lanie label, with some incredible Northern Soul gems by the Caesars such as "Girl, I Miss You" All very hard to find and quite expensive of course. I believe even the Kingshighway address on the label is the same.
