No, not the same group that cut massive slick hits (such as the incredible "I'll Be Around") in the 70's, but yes, the same group that cut "It's A Shame" in 1970!
Discovered by doo-wop legend Harvey Fuqua, this record (their third) is a stone classic of new breed r&b that swings so hard it HURTS!
from 1962...

i thought the were the same group but with a different lead singer.
Absolutely the same group. Bobby Snmith on lead in many versions of the group. GC Cameron in the late 60s, early 70s, the incomparable Philippe Wynne (sp?) taking the reigns on several Atlantic blockbusters, before leaving it in Mr. Smith's hands (or vocal chords) once again. Weems
OK, I stand corrected!
This is an earlier version of the Spinners before they added Philippe Wynne ("Rubberband Man") in 1970. Probably Harvey Fuqua singing lead on this, co-written by Harvey and his brother in law, Berry Gordy. This could be Bobby Smith on lead vocals. Bobby was the lead singer on the Stevie Wonder tune "It's a Shame" that kickstarted the hits.
