Oh what an EXCELLENT record!!!!
Bobby Treetop seems to have released three records on the Tuff label; this is the only one I've heard, and it's a track that's been sought after on the collector's circuit since the early '70's. Surprisingly, there doesn't seem to be any information about this record! Producer Benny Golson was a jazz musician from Philadelphia who took a break from performing to concentrate on studio work. He was located in New York City in the sixties, so perhaps this is a New York record? It gets credited as being from Chicago and although stylistically that would be an easy fit it doesn't seem to be.
Nevertheless, all that matters is what's in the grooves and damn is this a mighty record.

Wow, didn't know of Benny Golson as a producer. He was with the Jazz Messengers at the time they cut the Moanin' album and even wrote Along Came Betty. Versatile guy! He's probably still around.
Benny Golson didn't produce this record. Check the label. He arranged it.
I Love the intro to this record. Top class.
A few of Tuff's final releases were
from Chicago but the label was NY
based and most of the label's catalogue are NY records including both Bobby Treetop singles on Tuff.
Richard Tee arranged the previous
Bobby Treetop single "So Sweet,So
Satisfying". I suppose most people
think the label's from Chicago because it was distributed by Chess
but it's definitely NY.

Nobodys mentioned this shares the same backing track as RnB Time as recorded by the legendary DJ E RODNEY JONES.
