THE BLUE NOTES - HOT THRILLS AND COLD CHILLS


I first heard this at this year's MOD Chicago, where my man Brian (aka ace DJ "The Midnight Cowboy") played this gem of a jam and I had one of those "little record, where have you been all my life?" moments. First thing I did when I got home was to procure a copy of my very own!

Shortly before their smooth, Philly soul period, Harold Melvin & company recorded this all out burner.

So it seems that my copy on Dash is actually a reissue from 1972 to cash in on the interest that Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes were getting on Philly International that year.

yeah, very interesting that a small label like Dash was able to get the rights to reissue this; perhaps the rights were owned by the producer and it was licensed to Uni initially? Brian, oce again thanx for turning me onto this record. Can't believe I'd never heard it before!!!
