While listening to this track, there's no doubt that this is the same group that was uncredited as the backing of "Tighten Up" by Archie Bell & The Drells. Their name came from Texas State University, and that veritable road kind sport sedan, the Oldsmobile Toronado.
This is a great track that has the same type of laid back but tight as a snare drum rhythm and superb horns that has made "Tighten Up" such a classic.

Btw, the school you mean is Texas Southern University,not Texas State University.
I'm only saying because TSU deserves the kudos. It's home to the well known "Ocean of Soul" marching band and the crazy-good "Funk Train" drum line. Houston wouldn't sound the same without it.
I always find something new and especially good when I visit. Keep up the great work.
