This moody NOLA record perfectly conveys the mood of the title through saxman James Rivers melody, (mostly) wordless vocals, and some killer piano comping.
James Rivers' career began in his late 'teens with a stint with Huey 'Piano' Smith and The Clowns in the late '50's, and by the '60's his journeyman talents found him playing on such massive records as Earl King's 'Come On" and Robert Parker's "Barefootin'", in addition to non-stop performance work.
I love the ultra mod groove the band cuts here; taking a cue from Brazilian rhythms (filtered through the ubiquitous New Orleans groove), the track is oozing swing and sophistication.
