JIMMY (SOUL) CLARK - IF I ONLY KNEW THEN (WHAT I KNOW NOW)

The collaboration between Richard "Popcorn" Wylie and Tony Hester resulted in top quality Detroit soul that is easily worthy of a "Mini-Motown" title. The pair spent days holed up writing songs, many of which should have been massive hits (including this one). In fact, Popcorn himself eventually ended up at Motown, where he waxed the incredible 'Funky Rubber Band" in the early part of the '70's. Not a whole lot of biographical info is known about Jimmy Clark, although he cut a few more records in the late '60's.
