For whatever reason, this incredible side by the GODFATHER seems to have slipped through the cracks of becoming a "legendary" side in JB's massive catalog.
Strangely enough, this record made the POP charts at #77, but somehow MISSED the r&b charts. How strange is that? This song bridges the gap nicely between raw r&b and the groundbreaking nascent funk that James would lay out less than two years after this record was cut.
An absolutely incendiary performance from JB.

Wat en goed nummer van een fantastische zanger.
The reason it didn't make the Billboard R&B charts is that there were no R&B charts from late 1963 thru early 1965. The general theory was that the R&B charts were becoming too similar to the Pop charts so why make a separate chart. When Soul music started coming in big, in 1965, the R&B charts were started up again.
great great great!!!
