THE ESCORTS - ALL WE NEED IS ANOTHER CHANCE

Since first hearing this song, I've always been struck by the URGENCY of the vocals and how important it is to have another chance.

What I didn't know until moments ago, was that the group, made up of seven singers (Reginald Haynes, Lawrence Franklin, Robert Arrington, William Dugger, Stephen Carter, Frank Heard, and Marion Murphy), were all incarcerated at New Jersey's Rahway State Prison! Great Blog Derek! I've had this song on 7inch ep Alithia # A-EP01 (All We Need is Another Chance / Ooh, Baby Baby | Look Over Your Shoulder / By The Time I Get to Phoenix). And all 4 songs from them are amazing.

Hey, great Blog. I like "Disrespect can wreck" by the Escorts even more, as it´s like a mini-opera including soundeffects and dialogue. The theme is the same as in "all we need is another chance" - a warning to all the young thugs and lazy youth criminals disrespecting the law and their parents. I found it on a german compilation ("20 Fantastic Soul Hits") I was buying at a flea market when i was listening to a lot of hip hop in the mid-nineties and found it to be an antithesis of the gangster rap-lyrics (like an anti-NWA). Anyway I can not recommend the 7 inch I bought later as mine has bad sound and it`s beeped (censoring.
