PATTY & THE EMBLEMS - MIXED UP SHOOK UP GIRL

Simply nothing but girl group perfection from Camden, NJ's Patty & The Emblems. I felt this one tied in nicely with yesterday's entry, as it has a similar (to me at least) kind of vibe. I especially love how the drummer is playing those exciting rolls that act as hooks throughout the song, which is over seemingly before it even begins, making me want to play it again. And again.

I'd only ever heard the live version of this song which was included in Rhino's girl groups box set. The 45 release has such a nice groove! Thanks again Derek. Marie

Actually it's "(The Sound Of) Music Makes Me Want to Dance" that she sings so fine.
