Evie Sands has had a career in which there were far too many near misses due to competing versions of the same songs at the same time. However, her records have grown legendary throughout the years, and for good reason!
Transcendent is the only way to describe this one. A masterpiece in production (reminds me of what a Brian Wilson/ Phil Spector/ Motown collaboration would sound like), this song is infectious and jaw dropping.

im glad you mentioned 'competing versions' because i do know the song, but not by Evie...this really had me confused for a moment...
the version by Madeline Bell uses the exact same arraignment with a slightly less 'in your face' production...
actually its a bit strange that they're as similar as they are...
