The 'Fess is a New Orleans legend, and his Cajun piano style was a massive influence on Fats Domino, among others.

Today's offering is one of the ultimate party anthems for the world's ultimate party. I wish I was there in that amazing city of New Orleans RIGHT NOW!

You don't hear this version of the song as often as the Atlantic label release, Mardi Gras in New Orleans [which has very slightly different lyrics]....

The tune was originally called East St. Louis Rag and as far as i know didn't have any lyrics..

perhaps you mean 'creole'?...which is another thing altogether....
